Peranakan Mansion, Melaka
Peranakan Mansion in Melaka is a heritage dining destination set within a meticulously restored shophouse that captures the elegance and spirit of traditional Peranakan life. Renowned for its soulful and authentic Nyonya cuisine, the Mansion is helmed by Chef Keon, a Melaka-born chef of Teochew and Baba descent. With over 17 years of experience across Peranakan, Chinese, and Malay kitchens, Chef Keon brings a deep respect for heritage and flavour to every dish. Supported by a prominent Heeren Street family, the Mansion is dedicated to preserving the culinary traditions of the Peranakan community, offering guests a nostalgic yet refined gastronomic journey.
Budi Bar, Melaka
Budi is a hidden cocktail bar in the heart of Melaka, known for its thoughtful storytelling, locally inspired creations, and refined approach to modern mixology. Tucked above a heritage café in Kampung Jawa, the bar draws influence from Melaka’s diverse cultural layers, using native ingredients such as pandan, coconut, kedondong and galangal to craft cocktails that are both inventive and deeply rooted in place. Behind Budi is Tai Yong, a veteran of Malaysia’s nightlife scene who formerly founded KL institutions Lust and Nagaba. Returning to Melaka in 2019, he established Budi as a celebration of heritage through drink, blending his creative spirit with a deep respect for culture, flavour, and the traditions of his hometown.

The Intan, Singapore

Founded in 2003 by collector and cultural advocate Alvin Yapp, The Intan offers a deeply personal and immersive glimpse into Peranakan life through its extensive collection of rare antiques, heartfelt storytelling, and heritage-inspired dining experiences. Alvin, who began collecting Peranakan artefacts as a teenager, now curates the museum with his parents, offering guided tours that are as emotive as they are educational. Awarded Best Tour Experience by the Singapore Tourism Awards, The Intan has become an internationally recognised tribute to the richness and resilience of Peranakan culture.
